MRS. TADLOCK
Sarah Emaline Tadlock passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. J. Anderson, near Cantril, Iowa, Tuesday, August 7, 1923, at the age of 86 years. Mrs. Tadlock was the daughter of Alfred and Harriet Miller Hayes and was born July 22, 1837, near the town of Jonesboro in Green county, Tenn. In early childhood, after the death of her mother, she came with relatives to Schuyler county, Missouri.
On July [23 or 28], 1854, she was united in marriage to John H. Tadlock, and to this union were born eight children. Four of these died in childhood and another, Mrs. May Moreland, passed away in February, 1904, this leaving a daughter, Mrs. Mary Anderson, of Cantril, Iowa, and two sons, James and Frank Tadlock, of Burlington, Iowa.
In 1862 the deceased moved with her family to Henderson county, Illinois, where she made her home until the last six years. After the death of her husband six years ago she has made her home with her only surviving daughter, Mrs. S. J. Anderson. She had been in failing health for many years and two years ago suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she never recovered.
In early womanhood she united with the Christian church, and after moving to Illinois was affiliated with the Christian church of Stronghurst.
Besides the children mentioned, she leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. Martha Busey of Fayetteville, Ark., thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the home, conducted by Rev. W. H. Jones of Milton. Burial was beside her husband at Stronghurst, Ill.
