Ira Neal, 89, a resident of Ft. Madison 53 years, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday. Death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank E. Schurk, East Limits.

Mr. Neal was born at Vernon, Van Buren county, Iowa, March 20, 1847. He was married to Miss Louisa L. Cackley March 20, 1871 in Van Buren county. Mrs. Neal died Jan. 15, 1893.

Surviving are one son, Oscar S. Neal of Ft. Madison; three daughters, Mrs. Frank E. Schurk and Mrs. Henry Burton of Ft. Madison, and Mrs. William Burton of Montrose; three sisters, Mrs. Alice O'Neill of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Alvina Na[b or p]ers of Chicago, and Mrs. Frances Jones of Dresden, Kansas; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One son preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday [rest of obit missing]

Name and date of newspaper not given however seems to be a reprint from the Ft. Madison Democrat and according to dates, seems to be from 1936 or 1937.)
