FRANK P. MILLER
---------------
Frank Pierce Miller, third child of Elisha E. and Martha Ryland Miller, was born October 27, 1879, at the Miller homestead two miles north of Bonaparte, and passed away at the General hospital in Elko, Nevada, July 9, 1945, aged 65 years, 8 months and 12 days.

He grew to manhood at the place of his birth and in 1901 went to Des Moines where he was employed a year. From there he went to Deadwood, South Dakota, where he remained two years, then went to Butte, Montana.

In 1906 he went to Ely, Nevada, where he was employed in the copper mines.

He returned to Bonaparte in the fall of 1907 and that was his last visit home. The next spring he returned to Ely and on Sept. 2[9], 1909, was married to Miss Belle Rumbaugh of that city. She preceded him in death.

He has spent the last [3]7 years in the mining regions of Nevada, where he has been prospecting much of the time.

Since 1940 he has lived in Elko. His health had been failing the last three years and on June 29 he was taken to the hospital where he passed away ten days later.

Those surviving are four brothers and five sisters, Glenn of Canyon Creek, Mont., Clayton of Chicago, Boyd of Regina, Saskatchewan, Elizabeth Fuller of West Des Moines, and Byron, Golden, Faye [ ] Dawson, Grace Horstman and Marjorie Lindsay of Bonaparte.

Short funeral services conducted by Rev. Niederhuth were held at the home and at the cemetery, Sunday, July 15, 1945. Burial in White cemetery.

(Photocopy of this obit is located on page 47 of Obit Book A found in the Van Buren County, Iowa Genealogical Society's collection at the Keosauqua Public Library in November 1999. Name and date of newspaper not given. NOTE: The photocopy was very light making it hard to read, especially punctuation. I cannot tell if there is a comma between Faye and Dawson making two different children or if Dawson is the surname of Faye.)

I am NOT related to this person and am posting it for those who may find him/her in their family tree.
