This obit is a very bad copy, hard to read:

MRS. LYDIA SMITH

Lydia Smith was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, Jan. 16, 1853. Her parents were Jacob and Jane Smith. She departed this life Jan. 13, 1930, aged 77 years, 11 months and 27 days.

On Dec. 15, 1871 [someone wrote a 0 over the 1] she united in marriage to Sylvester Smith. Nine children were born to this union. The surviving [ ] Miss Jennie, who had lived with and tenderly cared for her mother since the death of her father; Mrs. Dora Brookha[rt] of Nampa, Idaho; Scott of Arbela; Mrs. May Rude of Cantril; [can't read] of Arbela.

Her husband departed this life on December 14, 1914. Four children also preceded her in death.

The funeral was conducted from the Mt. Moriah M.E. church Wednesday, Jan. 15 by the pastor, Rev. J. A. Harp, after [can't read] remains were placed [can't read] Mt. Moriah cemetery.
