FRED BRAGG

Fred Bragg, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Bragg, who was born in Bentonsport and lived there until his parents moved to Davenport, Iowa, where they now reside, died of softening of the brain at the hospital in Mt. Pleasant, September 2, 1907. He was the second son. He was in the hospital five months previous to his death. Prior to his sickness he had resided in Fairfield for five years, and the Journal of that place says of him: "Three years ago he was married to Miss Myrtle Morton, who, with their son, William, one year of age, survives him. His parents, two brothers and a sister survive him also. The parents and brothers live at Davenport. Mr. Bragg's mother and his wife both left last night for Mt. Pleasant upon receiving word that he was very low, and they were with him at the time of his death. The body will be brought here for interment. The deceased was well known here as an industrious and capable young man. He was a fine mechanic and faithful to his work. His death at this time seems especially sad, as he had but so recently established a home and during the short time that he was permitted to enjoy it he showed his appreciation by being in it as much as he possibly could. He was a great lover of his wife and their little son."
