Amanda J. Wilson was born Feb. 17, 1853 near Lebanon, Iowa, and passed from this life at her home in Milton, Iowa, April 26, 1926, being 73 years, 2 months and 9 days, leaving her husband, J. W. Brown and three children, Meda Helsel of Milton; Morris Brown of Ft. Madison, and Keith Brown of Milton; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One son preceded the mother to the better land, April 4, 1883.
She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in girlhood of which she continued a member until her death. In her life she exemplified the faith she had in her Master. Now she has gone home to her reward. With her the trials of earth and the storms of life are o'er; she has crossed the dark river and left her friends weeping on the shore.
The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. F. Gilbert. Interment was in the Milton cemetery.
