Mrs. Bina Perkins.

Mrs. Bina Perkins, youngest daughter of G. H. and Eliza House, was born in Van Buren Co., Sept. 23, 1860, and died at her home in Bonaparte Wednesday morning, aged forty-nine years and thirteen days.

She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth and childhood, and on March 10, 1880, she was united in marriage to Geo. B. Meredith. To this union were born four children: Otto, Clyde, Grace and Pearl.

Dec. 10, 1905, she was married to Allen Perkins of Bonaparte, and they have since made this and Kewanee, Ill., their home.

Most twenty years ago under the clear gospel preaching of Evangelist Miss Romack, she was converted and joined the M.E. church in a revival meeting which was held at Ward’s school house.

She has ever since sustained her relationship to the M.E. Church of which she has been a true and faithful member. Her whole life seemed to be bent to right and righteousness and to minister to the comfort and happiness of others.

She was an ardent lover of her home, devoted, kind and self-sacrificing for her children, a good neighbor and a friend to all who knew her, and to know her was to love her.

For at least a year she has been in delicate health but her final illness began about June. Her son, Clyde, brought her to her home in Bonaparte and all that loving and tender hands could do was done for her. At times her case looked hopeful, and her loved ones and friends expected her recovery only to be disappointed to find just temporary improvements. No doubt at times her sufferings were intense but Wednesday morning, a little past nine o’clock, she was translated from this world of sorrow, pain and suffering, to a city whose gates are pearl, whose streets are gold; whose walls are jasper, whose builder and maker is God, and where no one enters but the “pure of heart.”

Two sisters and a father have preceeded [sic] her to the other world.
