Edna M. Thomas (nee Edna Mary Alexander)

Edna M.Thomas, daughter of Emery and Gertie Cavitt Alexander, was born July 14, 1903 at Mt. Sterling and departed this life Thursday, November 27,1980 at Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home in Bloomfield at the age of 77. Most of her life was spent in Milton.

Surviving are her husband, Herbert, two sons, Cleo of Milton and Richard of Perry, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five brothers, Arthur Alexander, Wyaconda, Mo.; Roy Alexander, Jefferson, Iowa; Wiley and Gene Alexander, both of Keosauqua; and Neal Alexander of Alpha,Ill. Also,two sisters, Grace Brewer, Milton and Letha Scott, Bentonsport, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs.Thomas was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 30, 1980, at 2 p.m., at her church, with Rev. Gerald Calhoun and Rev. Bruce Hoffman officiating. Interment was at Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton.

Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for her church.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brewer of Galesburg spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Foster Brewer and attended the funeral of his aunt Edna Thomas. Others who were here for the funeral were Mrs. Martha ALexander and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander and another son Wayne, Arthur Alexander of Wyaconda and daughter Evelyn Ludwig (should be Ladwig) and Mrs. and Mrs. Ralph Hall and Dale Wenstrom of Galesburg.
