SAD INTELLIGENCE
M.N. Fegtly, editor of the Nugget, received the sad intelligence by wire Monday evening of the death of his youngest sister, Mrs. Lucy A. Bryant, whose demise occurred at the family home near Santa Rosa, Calif., Sunday September 26, 1909, at 12:45 p.m.
As the telegram did not reach Mr. Fegtly until 6 o'clock Monday evening it was too late for him to make preparations to arrive at Santa Rosa in time to attend the funeral, much to his regret.
Mrs. Bryant, the deceased, had for a number of years been a patient suffering from dropsy, and at the time of her taking away was 54 years of age.
She was a patient wife, a kind, loving and affectionate mother with high ideals of home, and it was her wish that she might live to perpetuate with her loving husband and children the true happiness of the family home life and peaceful surroundings.
Although her death had been expected, the announcement was a deep affliction to Mr. Fegtly, and the sympathy of many friends is extended to him and the other bereaved ones.
To mourn her loss are left her husband, Jay Bryant, two children, Margaret, 25 years of age, and Kenneth 16 years; besides three brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Kate E. Tucker of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. S.O. Randall of Birmingham, Iowa, and J.J. Fegtly of Los Angeles, M.N. Fegtly of silver City.
