Miner Killed in Cross Mine- Clyde earl was killed in the Bert Cross mine last tuesdey afternoon being crushed by a fall of slate. He went into the mine after dinner and he was alone in that part of the mine. It is not known what time he was killed but was found about 4oclock. his car wasfilled with coal and he was found in a crouching position,the tons of slate on his back. his life completly crushed out. he was taken to Alton-undertaking home and the body remains there at this time awaiting arrangement for burrial, Clyde earl was thirty two years of age and came here from centerville ia.Mrs earl is a cousin of sam robbins of this place.
