Denton TEDROW, born Harrison Co., Ohio, June 20, 1843, died at his home in Libertyville, Ia., Oct. 15, 1911, aged 68-3-25. On Aug. 2, 1862, enlisted in the army and fought throughout the Civil War, taking part in about 30 battles and skirmishes. At the memorable "Battle of the Wilderness" fought May 6, 1864, he was twice wounded and received his honorable discharge from the war dept. July 1, 1865.

Aug. 31, 1865, married Miss Phebe BROWN of Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Several children were born; all living except Charley Edwin, who died in infancy.

The family came to Iowa in the fall of 1871, settling on a farm in Jefferson County near Bethel Church. Afterwards they resided in Birmingham three years and then returning to the farm remained there until 11 years ago when they moved to Libertyville. He united with the U.B. Church of Navor, Ohio, in Feb., 1866, and in the spring of 1872 by letter with the M.E. Church at Bethel...

Survivors are the widow and children: Louisa Jane HALE, Marshalltown; Nettie Ann BALDWIN,Eldon; Phebe Estelle JONES, Van Buren County; William D. TEDROW, Libertyville; Minnie May BALDWIN, Eldon; Joseph B. TEDROW, Van Buren County. Services were held at Bethel Church.
