SUSAN WEBSTER
Susan, daughter of John Ulrich and Anna Ritz, was born in Zurich, Switzerland, Dec. 20, 1850, and departed this life Nov. 28th, 1929, at her home in Selma, Iowa, aged 78 years, 11 months and 22 days. She came with her parents to the United States at the early age of nine months and has since made this her home. She was baptized in the Lutheran church when a child and has lived according to her faith.
She was united in marriage to John Webster Nov. 12,1874. To this union were born five children, Lillian Diehl of Selma, Pearl M. Webster of Douds, Daisy L. Carlton of Walsenburg, Colo., and Loie M. Hansahw of Keosauqua. One son, Jay, preceded her in death.
There live to mourn her departure and cherish her memory the husband and children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, also two sisters and two brothers, and many other relatives and a large circle of friends. Everything that loving hands could do was done to relieve her suffering and make her last days tranquil.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the M. E. church in Selma in charge of the pastor, the Rev. C. H. Chader. The Selma male quartet sang three comforting selections. Six of her nephews acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in Leando cemetery.
Many friends and neighbors from Douds and Mrs. Ella Hopkins of Agency attended the funeral.
