LYCURGUS CRETCHER
Lycurgus Cretcher, son of Mathew and Lucinda Cretcher, was born near Mt. Sterling on Sept. 7, 1849, and departed this life on June 19, 1928, in his 79th year. He spent his entire life in this community.
He was united in marriage to Ella Francis Fix. To this union were born three sons, Roy L., Walter Merton and Otto Gerald.
His wife preceded him in death on June 26, 1907, and one son, Roy L., May 3, 1926. He leaves to mourn their loss two sons: Walter Merton of Chicago, Otto Gerald of Mt. Sterling and one granddaughter, Marcelle Cretcher of Alamosa, Colo.; two brothers, Daniel Cretcher of Mt. Sterling and M. I. Cretcher of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Case of Plain View, Texas, and Mrs. Lutie Davis of Seattle, Wash., also nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
