Dr. W. I. Bogle, of Bonaparte, and Miss Puss Smith, of Keosauqua, were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Smith, in Keosauqua, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Elder Perkins, of Keosauqua, performing the ceremony, after which an elaborate dinner was partaken of.

The wedding was a quiet one, there being no one present but a few immediate relatives and intimate friends of the contracting parties. Many rare gifts were presented the bride and groom.

The happy couple departed on the evening train for Ottumwa, thence to go to Spirit Lake via Des Moines.

They will be at home in Bonaparte in about a week, where they will reside.

The RECORD extends its best wishes.

[Date not stated but marriage record in Van Buren Co. courthouse indicates marriage date of 14 Sept 1896. She was a daughter of George F. and Clara Jane Johnson Smith]
