Miss Georgia Henry.SEPT. 1 AND SEPT. 6, 1903
J. R. Sherman and Miss Nellie M. Oberton were married Tuesday evening September 1, 1903. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. Collier at the Methodist parsonage in Bonaparte and no guests were invited.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman learned of the event and were present to serenade and escort them to their home. They will for the present reside in the rooms where the Sherman Brothers have been keeping bachelors hall over Dr. Cresap's office.
Mr. Sherman is the editor of the Bonaparte Bee. He and his brother, Sid V., came to Bonaparte almost two and one-half years ago and started their Bee which has been in clover ever since and is a healthy looking local paper.
Miss Oberton came to Bonaparte from Dows, Iowa, about two years ago and has been employed here in the tailoring department here in the tailoring department of Meek Bros. factory. She was acquainted with Mr. Sherman before his removal to Bonaparte.
S. V. Sherman and Miss Georgia Henry were married at the Methodist parsonage Sunday evening at 7 o'clock by Rev. Collier. Miss Lottie Cassiday was present.
S. V. Sherman is business manager of the Bonaparte Bee and is a hustler. Miss Henry has for several years been living with her grandmother, Mrs. Sturdivant, and has been employed in the tailor shop.
They will go to housekeeping on East Main Street of Bonaparte where Mr. Sherman has prepared a home for his bride.
The RECORD extends congratulations. The editor of this paper having been married only a short three years, does not find it necessary to write of the trials and tribulations of married life and extend to Mr. and Mrs. Sherman their affliction, condolence, as did the Republican editors.
