Death thought to be from natural causes

Natural causes are thought to have caused the death of a 67-year-old rural Keosauqua man Tuesday, morning, January 21.

The Van Buren County Ambulance was called at 8:51 a.m. to respond to an accident near the Larry DeHart residence on Highway 1 just south of Keosauqua where a pickup was laying on its side.

Donald Miller Blair was transported to Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Officers said the preliminary investigation indicates he died of natural causes which caused him to lose control of his pickup and go into the ditch. No other vehicles were involved.

The Jaws of Life was also called to the scene. The accident was investigated by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
