1988 SE 22Bonaparte man dies in electrocution accident
In what is being labeled as a "freak accident," a 30-year-old Farmington truck driver was killed when the back gate of his truck came in contact with a power line in Montgomery, Alabama, Sept. 16.
According to Lt. Robert Hankins of the Montgomery police department, Kenny Turner, 29, was opening the gate of his truck, apparently, when he raised it high enough to touch a guy wire, which in turn brushed a power line.
"A passing motorist saw Turner at 3:50 a.m.," Hankins said.
He said it appeared Turner had finished his work at the warehouse when the incident took place.
Turner was born Nov. 27, 1958, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Turner, Farmington.
Funeral services were held Sept. 20, 1988, and burial was at Greenglade Cemetery.
According to Hankins, even though he was killed instantly and an autopsy showed he died as the result of electrocution, the matter is still under investigation.
