Former Farmington man dies of self-inflicted wound

A former Farmington man was found dead early Monday morning after he failed to return home from a hunting trip.

The body of David Craig Millen, 27, of 1934 West 70th Street, Davenport was found in a timber west of Farmington at 2:15 a.m. Monday by a Van Buren County Deputy.

Dr. J.T. Worrell, Van Buren County Medical Examiner, said Millen died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A search had been initiated by relatives after Millen had not returned from a deer hunt.

The investigation was by Dr. J.T. Worrell, medical examiner, and the Van Buren County sheriff's department.

Millen is the son of former State Representative and Mrs. Floyd Millen, now of Des Moines.

The body was taken to the Hofbauer Funeral Home where services were held Wednesday, December 9 at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Mike Shea officiated. Burial was in the Anson cemetery.
