Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash
Gregory Paul Becker, 26, of Keosauqua was killed early Sunday morning when he was thrown from a motorcycle on Iowa Highway 1, just south of the Keosauqua city limits.
The motorcycle was driven by Ned Teeter, 26, of Keosauqua, who was listed in stable condition on Monday. Teeter has abrasions and contusions, a lower back injury, and a concussion.
Becker was pronounced dead at the scene by assistant Van Buren County medical examiner Dr. K. Furumoto.
The motorcycle was south-bound at 2:15 a.m. when the driver apparently lost control, according to authorities. The cycle crossed into the northbound lane, before going into a ditch. Both men were thrown off when the cycle went into a ditch, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's office.
Becker struck a tree and died of massive head injuries. Neither man was wearing a helmet.
Teeter has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, in Van Buren County magistrate court. The accident remains under investigation.
