FAIRFIELD MAN KILLED KILLED ON HIGHWAY 1Rex Howard, 24, of Fairfield was struck and killed Feb. 6 by a car driven by Willard Johnson, 52, of near Stockport.
The Howard car had become stalled on Highway 1 a mile south of Fairfield, and the victim was standing near the car when the accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Howard was Iowa's 67th traffic fatality of 1967, the second in Jefferson County. Van Buren County has had one fatality.
