--While going out to the funeral of R.J. Sturtivant, Messrs. Thos. Christy and W.H. Brooker had a narrow escape from severe injury. In crossing over from Texas to Washington street, opposite the residence of John Custer, the wheels ran into a chuck hole, and the seat, not being fastened, gave way, throwing the two gentlemen out on the frozen ground. Mr. Christy's ear was cut and his neck and shoulders bruised somewhat; Mr. Brooker escaped unhurt.
