One of the pleasantest events of the season occurred on Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 1898, at the beautiful Sieberling home south of Mitchellville, in the marriage of Miss Sadie to Mr. Albert H. Schmidt, formerly of this place, but now in the employee of the C. M. & St. P. Ry. at Braymer, Mo. Quite a company of relatives and friends were assembled to witness the ceremony, and to wish the young couple God speed. At 4:30 the bridal pair, supported by Mr. Orra Rosenberger as groomsman, and Miss Etta Sieberling as bridesmaid, entered the parlor to the inspiring strains of Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, Miss Mable Ellis presiding at the piano, and took their places in front of a pyramid of plants and flowers, and beneath festoons of smilax and wedding bells. Rev. C. B. Taylor, pastor of the Congregational church, then pronounce the words that bound them to each other for life, and their many friends tendered their sincerest congratulations, and best wishes.

The groom was faultlessly attired in the customary black, while the bride wore a plain white orgundle, simply yet tastefully trimmed in chiffon and lace. Many beautiful and useful presents were received, not least of which was a check for $100 from the brides father. The fact that Mr. Schmidt was to take his bride away from this community, where she has lived all her life and with whose church and society circle she has been closely identified, with a tinge of sadness to the occasion. She will be greatly missed. Those present beside the immediate family were Mr. C. W. Schmidt, of Bonaparte, and Mr. C. E. Schmidt and wife of Eddyville, father and brother respectively of the groom. Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Oldfield, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Way, Mr. and Mrs. Milan Hibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sieberling, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Craig, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. McKee, Misses Edith and Mabel Ellis, Ola and Edith Miller, Ida and Ella Craig, Mamie and Edna Way, Lydia Wilkinson, Mac Franklin, Allee Rumple, Della and Rosa Way and Messrs. Will Thompson, Orra Rosenberger, Chas. Craig, and Orr Way. Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt left on the 7:27 train from Nobleton last night for their new home in Braymer, where they will be"at home" to their friends after June 1. May they have a long and happy life.-Mitchellville Index
