Two Hearts that Beat as One.
About 30 invited guests assembled at the home recently fitted up so nicely by Mr. Will Cates. All were anxious to see what kind of a housekeeper Will was. Everything was in perfect order and the company were in their merriest humor. At half past eight o'clock there was a hush in the parlor, and all eyes were turned towards the door which opened suddenly and behold Rev. Barber is one of our number. Immediately following is our host with a lady on his arm attended by Mr. Geo. Fahr and Ms. Helen Beck. At a glance we understood that we have been invited to witness the marriage of Mr. Will Cates and Mrs. Anna A. Whitlock. After a short but impressive ceremony congratulations were extended. Supper was then announced. We will not attempt to describe it for we cannot do it justice. Mr. Barber, Jack Morris and Geo. Demple, can give their experience at the table. It was alarming to see them eat. After supper we were entertained with some excellent music by Misses Maggie and Helen Beck and Cora Entler sang a selection.
The bride was dressed in brocaded white silk, trimmed with lace and ribbon. She wore no jewelry, but a large quantity of tube roses and smilax adorned the bodice. Bonaparte has always been the home of Anna and she is known and loved by all. Mr. Cate's former home was at Warsaw, Ill., but the past three years has resided in Bonaparte. After a late hour the guests departed taking many pleasant memories of the evening with them, and wishing Mr. and Mrs. Cates a long and happy life.
