Long-Mitchell.

Mr. Jerome Long and Mrs. Kate Bly Mitchell were married at the Baptist parsonage in Bonaparte Thursday morning, August 17, 1911, Rev. T. L. Smith officiating. After the ceremony they went to Keosauqua to attend the Old Settlers Reunion, returning to Bonaparte [the] same day and making their home in Mr. Long’s property in the east part of town.

The neighbor children began giving them a charivari about 7:30. The older people will gradually joined them and increased the noise and merriment until about 8:30 when the band came and gave them a delightful serenade.

Mr. and Mrs. Long are old-time residents of the county. They are most excellent people; both are well known here, and both have many friends who wish for them many years of happiness. Mr. Long has for three years been living alone at his home here. Mrs. Mitchell had been making her home with her son, Wm., and family.
