Rigler-Carr
Mr. George Albert Rigler and Miss Mary Theresa Carr are to be married Wednesday morning June 16, 1909, at nine-o’clock at the Catholic church in Farmington, Rev. Father Nolan of Missouri Valley, Iowa, officiating. Rev. Nolan is an old firend of Miss Carr. He also officiated at the wedding of her sister, Mrs. F. M. Sturdivant.
After the wedding the party of relatives and friends will partake of a wedding dinner at the Pilot House, and Mr. and Mrs. Rigler will leave on the Rock Island for a few days visit with Mrs. Kate Cook and the Geo. Demple family at Keokuk and with Miss Mary Connell and Ed. Demple at Des Moines. They had planed a trip to the Seattle exposition but are unable to take it now because of settlement of the Rigler estate.
Madames Anna Trainor and Mayme McQuillen had a shower for Miss Carr Tuesday evening at the Trainor home.
Miss Carr was reared in Centerville being a daughter of James and Ellen Carr. She came to Bonaparte eight years ago soon after the death of her mother, and for about six years was employed at the Fair store with her brother-in-law, F. M. Sturdivant. She was an energetic and attractive assistant for Mr. Sturdivant and has made many friends in Bonaparte and throughout the county who wish for her many years of happiness.
George Rigler is a son of Fred Rigler, deceased. He has arranged to purchase from the other heirs their interest in the home place of 170 acres and it is there that Mr. and Mrs. Rigler expect to reside. They are planning the erection of a modern residence. Mr. Rigler is a successful farmer and stock raiser, energetic, obliging and thrifty. The RECORD takes pleasure in congratulating him in his good fortune in securing so handsome and accomplished a bride. May they both live long and prosper.
