Miss Ella Cummings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Cummings, Rt. 1, Basco, Ill. and C. Kent Coultas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Coultas, Canton, Ill. were married in a candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m. August 19 in the Basco Methodist Church.
Rev. Phillip Hedgecock and Rev. Roland Hosto read the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Harlan Hufendick of Hamilton was organist and accompanied Miss Jeannine Wetzel of Warsaw as she sang “I Have But One Heart.” Miss Dixie Miller registered guests. Mrs. Stanley Davidson, Mrs. Terry Coker, Mrs. Mike Styninger and Dixie Miller, received gifts.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown with an empire waist and a lace bodice over white satin, styled with a scoop neckline and full lace sleeves. She wore a floor length illusion veil and carried a bouquet of pink and blue carnations and baby breath with pink streamers.
Miss Karla Gillum of Warsaw was her maid of honor. Miss Dixie Mosley of Carthage was bridesmaid. They wore gowns of blue and pink polka dotted swiss, respectively, and each carried a white candle centered in a nosegay of blue carnations, ping star flowers and baby breath with pink streamers.
Terry Coker of Carthage served as best man. Mike Styninger of Lincoln, Ill. was groomsman. They wore black tuxedos, white ruffled shirts with black trim, and black bow ties.
Carla Sue Cummings, sister of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore a floor length gown of dotted swiss trimmed in lace and a picture hat. Craig, son of the groom, was the ring bearer, Jim Cummings, brother of the bride, lit the candles, Bob Cummings and Maurice Cummings, brothers of the bride, were ushers.
Mrs. Cummings, mother of the bride, wore a gold knit dress. Mrs. Coultas, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a beige knit outfit. Their corsages were of gold and white mums.
A reception was held after the ceremony in the church basement. Mrs. Bob Cummings, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Jim Coultas, sister-in-law of the groom, cut and served the three tier cake. Miss Jeannine Wetsel served punch.
After a honeymoon in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the couple are now living in Colchester. Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Warner and Mrs. George Simmons of Bonaparte attended the wedding.
