Dr. W. H. Mott Completes 35 Years At Farmington

Dr. Mott is completing 35 years of service as a medical doctor in Farmington and vicinity. He was graduated from the Keokuk medical college and opened his first office in Donnellson, Iowa, on Decoration Day, 1900. He later moved to Kansas where he practiced for one year, returning to Iowa he opened an office in Croton where he remained for two years, then he moved to Farmington.

Dr. Mott was born in Clark county, Mo., and when he was eight months old his parents moved to Vincennes, Iowa, where he was reared. His grandfather, Robert E. Mott, was Justice of the Peace in Lee county, appointed by Robert Lucas, Governor of the territory of Iowa.

FARMINGTON IA --- Dr. W. H. Mott, 74, Farmington, Monday will celebrate 50 years in the practice of medicine.

He received his diploma to practice from the old Keokuk College of Physicians and Surgeons. Later he took a post graduate course in Washington, D. C.

He has practiced here 46 years. During his long medical practice Dr. Mott has had 27 automobiles.

Born in Clark county, Missouri, he married Mela Mott of Farmington in 1908.

Dr. Mott was president of the Van Buren county Medical Society for four years, was on the board of county medical examiners, served 18 years with the Farmington board of education and was city health officer for 30 years.

Medical Officer

He is a member of the Masonic Lodge and Congregational church.

As a first lieutenant in the army medical corps in World War I he was in charge of a hospital during the flu epidemic.
