Mr. and Mrs. John Morris and daughter Ruth entertained Sunday in celebration of the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Morris. The guests included the two sisters of Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Jay Morris and Mrs. Arthur Morris, and husbands, also their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Veatch of Keosauqua.

Miss Anna Belle Morris began work last week as assistant typist for the Van Buren selective service board at Keosauqua.

The Boy Scouts held a pancake supper Saturday. The proceeds will be used for war relief.

Rhynas Miner, Howard Smith, Chauncey Bailey and Berna Giberson took preliminary examination at Keosauqua last week for selective service.

Forty-seven men registered at Stockport last week.
