Welch – Jones.

“A very pretty wedding occurred at 321 North Market, at 6 o’clock, Nov. 19, when Miss Gertrude Jones, daughter of Mrs. G.A. Jones, was united by marriage to Geo. H. Welch of Argonia, Kansas. The ceremony was performed by the groom’s father, Rev. Jas. Welch D.D.”

The above is an extract from the account of a wedding in the Wichita Eagle.

The boyhood home of the groom, Mr. Welch, was Bonaparte, and he was in business here for a number of years, at one time being the editor of the Bonaparte Journal. He is a graduate of Parsons College, Fairfield, and taught in the Salem College during the two years his father was president of that school.

Mr. Welch still has many friends in Bonaparte who extend congratulations and wish for him a happy and prosperous future.

[note: year not stated but position in scrapbook would suggest 1905]
