DR. L. A. COFFIN PRESIDENT-ELECT
OF IOWA MEDICAL SOCIETY

Farmington citizens are very happy to learn that Dr. L. A. Coffin of Farmington was named president-elect of the Iowa Medical Society at the state convention held in Des Moines April 28.

He will become president one year from now. Dr. G. V. Caughla of Council Bluffs will serve as president for the next year.

Dr. John Heffner Chittum, 87, of Wapello, and 1898 graduate of Keokuk Medical College was named as Iowa’s “General Practitioner of 1954”. It is stated that he traveled by foot, horseback, rowboat and car to reach his patients during his practice. We venture to say that Dr. Coffin has also used most of those modes of travel also, during his years here.
