J.H. Swan Asks For Bell's Job

J.H. Swan, Valley Junction real estate and insurance man, Monday morning filed application with the board of supervisors for the appointment of Valley Junction justice of the peace, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John S. Bell.

Swan is a former Valley Junction justice of the peace and at one time operated a Valley Junction newspaper.

Last week he was unsuccessful in his application for the appointment as justice in the other Valley township court. Bernard Krull, who had been elected to the position but failed to qualify through the posting of a bond, was appointed by the board.

Board members said the matter of appointment for a successor to Mr. Bell probably would be taken up at the next meeting Apr. 11.
