BLACKFORD GETS PARTNER.

Keosauqua's Loss is Bonaparte's Gain.

BLACKFORD - SWAN.

Tuesday, October 8, occurred the marriage of Miss Maud A Sawn of Keosauqua to Aaron Vale Blackford of Bonaparte. The immediate relatives of the contracting parties were assembled at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Jennie Brooks, at Keosauqua and at 2 o'clock P. M. a selection from Nevin was rendered by Mrs. W. S. Blackford; this was followed by Mendelsohn's March, the beautiful strains of music continuing throughout the ceremony. The bride was never more lovely than when she appeared in a gown of white, caring bride's roses. The groom was attired in black. The ring service was used, and the ceremony, which was conducted by Rev. Jeffries, was unique and impressive. After the usual congratulations the company partook of a bountiful wedding feast.

Mr. and Mrs. Blackford left on the evening train for Eldon whence they go to Buffalo by way of Chicago.

The bride spent her girlhood days at Cantril, iowa, and after finishing school at that place attended the Iowa Wesleyan University where she was graduated in the Musical department in 1898. It was at Mt. Pleasant that she met Mr. Blackford who was also a student and was graduated from the same college in '97. Mrs. Blackford's rare musical accomplishments, her happy disposition and beautiful character are well known to her many friends. Bonaparte will be glad and proud to welcome her.

Mr. Blackford is too well known here to need praise from the press. He is the junior member of the Blackford Bros. Hardware Co. and is a hustler, being kind and accommodating to all.

Mr. and Mrs. Blackford will return in several weeks and be at home at the J. T. B. Cresap property.
