Miss Puss Smith, of Keosauqua, and Dr. W. I. Bogle, at the home of the bride's parents Monday the 14th inst., Rev. Chas. B. Perkins, of the Congregational church officiating.Although about thirty persons witnessed the nuptials, the wedding was essentially a private one, the guests being relatives of the contracting parties and three or four intimate friends. Among those present from a distance were Mr. Geo. B. Johnson and wife, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mr. H. C. Raney and wife, of Fairfield, and Miss May West of Galesburg, Ill. A number of handsome and useful presents were received.
The groom is a practicing physician at Bonaparte and also a member of the Bonaparte Drug Co., and manager of the concern's business. The bride is a daughter of Mr. Geo. F. Smith, late of the STATE LINE DEMOCRAT. She is a graduate of Knox college, Galesburg, Ill., was last year an instructor in the high school of this place, and is an accomplished, amiable and womanly young lady.
The young couple departed for Des Moines where they will remain about a week. After Oct. 1 the (sic) will be at home to their friends at Bonaparte. The DEMOCRAT wishes them the greatest happiness and good fortune throughout the voyage of life.
