HARRISBURG NUPTIALS.

January First, Nineteen Hundred
and Three at the Home
of the Bride.

ELY - DOWNS.

At high noon on January 1, 1903 were celebrated the nuptials of Mr. Raymond E. Ely and Miss Lucy Downs, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Downs, in Harrisburg township.

Rev. R. Collier spoke the words that united these estimable young people. Quite a company of relatives were present among whom were three grand-mothers and one grand-father of the happy couple, they being Joseph Keck and his wife, Mrs. Ely and Mrs. Miller. The ceremony was followed by a sumptuous wedding feast.

Mrs. Ely is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Downs and is one of the brightest, most accomplished young ladies of Harrisburg township.

Mr. Ely is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ely and is in every respect a No. 1 young man.

They attended college in Mr. Pleasant and they expect to make that city their home. They will make an extended visit in Des Moines and will begin house keeping in the spring in Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. and Mrs. Ely belong to families that are both honored and respected; and they, also, have the esteem and best wishes of many friends.
