Brassil-Gillaspie.

John Brassil, the well known restauranteur and thespian, stole a march of his friends last week by entering into a life contract with Dan Cupid for the heart of Miss Bessie Gillaspie, a Bonaparte lass. The ceremony took place at Carthage on Thursday, and on Friday Mr. and Mrs. Brassil came to Keokuk to receive the blessing of his parents and the congratulations of his many friends. Earlier in the week Mr. Brassil signed with Frank Waters for a tour through Illinois with a moving picture exhibition. While in Carthage the couple concluded to get married and Mr. Brassil secured a vacation of a few days to enjoy his honeymoon. He will join the troupe this week, and will be accompanied by his bride. -- Gate City.
