Schmidt-Schmidt.
Wednesday noon, November 14, 1906 occurred the wedding of two of Bonaparte's very best young people, Mr. Fred Schmidt and Miss Emma C. Schmidt. The ceremony was performed in the south parlor of the bride's home, Rev. Wilkin of Farmington officiating, with relatives and a few friends witnesses.
The home and particularly the parlor was daintily decorated for the occasion, potted plants, rosebuds, and smilax making the scene a pretty one. After the ceremony a delightful wedding dinner was served and partaken of.
The groom is well known to every one in this neighborhood and is respected for his manliness and sterling qualities. He is one of the twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. C. Schmidt who are numbered among our best respected citizens.
Mr. Schmidt has grown to manhood here and has ever commanded the respect of his friends, who are many. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Schmidt and is also well known to our people as an ambitious, intelligent, and accomplished young lady. She has drawn many lasting friends and everyone who held an interest in her was pleased with her selection of a life companion. The young people will be at home to their many friends near Bonaparte.
A reception was given Saturday evening, November 17, by Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Schmidt in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmidt. About forty friends were present. Refreshments were served at eight o'clock after which the evening was spent in games and music and in having a sociable pleasant time. The bride and groom received presents too numerous to mention.
