SURPRISED THEIR FRIENDS.

ABERNATHY-HOLMES.

Tuesday, February 16, 1904, at six o'clock P.M. at the home of the bride's parents occurred the marriage of Mr. Fred Abernathy and Miss Sadie Holmes, Rev. Bancroft of Harrisburg Baptist church officiating.

Miss Holmes is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manning Holmes of Harrisburg township and has for the past three years been a teacher in the rural schools of this county, having been graduated from the Bonaparte High School in the class of 1900. For the past few months she has been teaching in the Brush College district near Milton and while teaching here that she became acquainted with Mr. Abernathy. She has lived all her life in Harrisburg township except when teaching two or three terms of school.

Fred Abernathy is a son of Wm. Abernathy of Milton and has a home ready for his bride within the corporate limits of the queen city of Jackson township. He is a farmer and an energetic, honorable young man. Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy went to Milton Wednesday morning.

The best wishes of a host of friends accompany them to their new home. The RECORD extends sincerest congratulations and wishes for them a long and happy life.
