HAYES – MAHLER

Mr. Albert T. Hays of Sonora, Iowa, and Miss Jennie Mahler of Bonaparte, Iowa, were married at the Baptist parsonage at Harrisburg, on Wednesday evening about five oclock [sic] by Rev. Bancroft. Miss Peart Hays a sister of the party of the first part and Mr. Frank Mahler were the only guests present at the ceremony.

Mrs. Hays was graduated from the Bonaparte high schools in the class of 1900 and since that time has taught in the public schools of Van Buren county and also near Grinnel, Iowa where she met Mr. Hays. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Mahler of Harrisburg township and is certainly a most beautiful and accomplished lady, one who makes friends and keeps them. Mr. Hays is indeed to be congratulated.

Mr. Hays is a farmer and lives not far from Grinnel, Iowa, where his at once took his bride. He was educated in the public schools and at the Iowa College of Grinnel. He is a fine looking, well educated and highly respected gentleman.

After the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Went at once to the Mahler home where they enjoyed the wedding feast with the Mahler family. They left Thursday morning for their new home and at once went to housekeeping. The best wishes of their Van Buren county friends go with them.

[Note – spelled Hayes in headline, and Hays throughout the article – year not stated but position is scrapbook would suggest 1904]
