MARRIAGE BELLS AT BONAPARTE

Nuptials of Mr. W. R. Bell, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Miss Hattie E. Christy.

One of the happiest social events of the season took place at Bonaparte last (Wednesday) evening being the nuptials of Mr. W. R. Bell of Ft. Worth, Texas and Miss Hattie E. Christy, Daughter of Thos. Christy, Esq., of Bonaparte. Invitations had been issued to the relatives and less than half a dozen very good near friends only, and yet the number present to witness the ceremony was not less than 50. At 6:30 the high contracting parties entered the parlor. The bride wore a handsome and richly trimmed cashmere and brocade-silk dress, with the traditional orange blossoms and tulle vail, and a heavy gold necklace, bracelets and diamond earrings. The ceremony was performed by Rev. James Welch of the Presbyterian church. After the ceremony the hearty congratulations of those present were extended, and a congratulatory telegram was received from friends of the groom at Marshall, Texas.

The presents were appropriate, elegant and quite numerous, evincing the high esteem in which the parties are held, as follows:

Mr. and Mrs. Bell departed on the 9 o'clock train for Ft. Worth, which will be their future home. Mr. Bell began life as a brakeman of the K & D M. and by his efficiency and trustworthiness, as well as by his popular manners he has won his way up to the position of passenger conductor, which position he has held for several years on the Texas Pacific road, his run being from Ft. Worth to Longview Junction, Texas. The bride is the second daughter of Thos. Christy, Esq., who has held the positions of sheriff, county supervisor, and member of the legislature from this county. She was one of the most handsome and accomplished, as well as one of the most amiable and intelligent young ladies in the county, and none had a larger circle of friends and admirers. The young couple enter upon life's journey with bright prospects for the future, and with the hearty sympathy and the earnest good wishes of hosts of friends, among whom is the DEMOCRAT, for their prosperity and happiness.
