A Wedding in Bonaparte

A large and joyous company gathered at the residence of W. J. Johnson, Esq., Thursday evening, the 12th inst., to witness the nuptials of Miss Nannie B. Johnson, of Bonaparte, and Mr. Geo. T. Ward, of Chicago.

The contracting parties entered the parlor at precisely half past 8 o'clock. The marriage rites were solemnized by Rev. Welch, of the Presbyterian church.

Among the guests from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Martin, of Chicago, Miss MacDonald of Fairfield, Misses Eda and Elsie Day, of Keokuk, Mr. J. W. Crea, of Altoona, and Mr. C. E. Greef and Miss Sena Greef, of Bentonsport.

The presents were quite numerous and costly. among them were a silver butter dish from Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meek; $25 in greenbacks (the price of a cow), Mr. Dennis Haney; fruit dish and boquet holder Miss Elsie Day; silver syrup pitcher, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Meek; mapkin rings and dozen mapkins, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Robb; dozen silver knives and forks, Mr. and Mrs. L.T. Martin; butter knife, Miss Eda Day; napkin rings, Mr. C. E. Greef and Miss Sena Greef; set pillow shams Miss Mollie Wagner, pair vases Mrs. Lizzie Anderson; call bell, Miss Hattie Christy; bible Mrs. D. Haney; match receiver, Mrs. Reifsnider;

The bride was dressed in Paris muslin, cut square in the neck and trimmed with ruffles and puffs of the same with a fan shaped train. She wore white kid gloves and slippers, tulle veil, wreath, etc.

She is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Johnson, and is a most graceful, vivacious and amiable young lady, and is most highly esteemed by all who know her. Mr. Ward is a live stock commission merchant at the Union Stock Yards, Chicago, and is a popular and pleasant gentleman. They started on the 2 o'clock train Friday morning for Chicago, where they have a home ready rurnished awaiting them, leaving behind a very large circle of friends and acquaintances; whose most earnest heartfelt desire is for their future happiness and welfare.
