One of the pleasaneest (sic) events of the year just gone was the marriage at the residence of Mrs. G. W. Troutman, on Thursday evening, Dec. 29, 1881, of S. Scott Troutman and Miss Minnie M. Hinish. The ceremony was performed by Rev. James Welch, assisted by Elder D. L. Clouse, in the presence of about 25 invited guests, John Monroe acting as groomsman and Miss Lulu Haney as bridesmaid. After the congratulations the guests were ushered into the dining room, where a bountiful wedding supper was spread, to which all did ample justice. Quite a number of presents were received by the happy couple. The groom is the junior member of the firm of Ryland & Troutman, and is a promising young business man. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Hinish, of this place, and is a young lady that stands deservedly high in the good opinion of all who know her.
