McCanne-Meek nuptials

On Monday's train W. Gerald McCanne arrived from Denver with his bride, nee Miss Carlotta Meek, and they went at once to housekeeping in the Smith cottage on Ruby avenue.

The marriage was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meek, 427 So. Tremont street, Sunday evening at six o'clock, the Rev. Dr. B. B. Tyler, of South Broadway Christian church, officiating. But few intimate friends and the families of the principals were present, a quiet affair being desirable. At 9:30 the happy pair took the train for this place.

These young people were classmates in the public schools of West Denver and graduated in the same class two years ago. The bride is a charming young lady and has been teaching school in the suburbs of Denver. With the exception of the last few years, Gerald lived in Gunnison since a small boy and we all know him to be a sober, steady and industrious young man. He holds the position of assistant engineer at the light and water plant.

The opening chapter of their new life is an auspicious one, full of hope and promise, and the Tribune's wish is that not a single cloud will mar or darken their happiness

Margaret Johnson Meek Scrapbook--second article follows:

A very pretty wedding took place last Sunday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Meek of 428 South Tremont Street, when their daughter, Carlotta Clara, was united to W. Gerald McCanne of Gunnison. Only immediate relatives were present. Dr. B.B. Tyler of the South Broadway Christian church officiated. The bride is an accomplished young woman who has scores of friends wherever she is known. She was attired in white silk mull trimmed in lace and ribbon and carried bride's roses. The groom is the only son of D. J. McCanne of 73 Lincoln avenue. Both are graduates of the West Denver high school, class of 1897. Mr. and Mrs. McCanne left the same evening for Gunnison.
