HYMEN'S HALTER

Marriage of Miss Ida Cowles and Mr. Joel West, of Greenfield

One of the most pleasant weddings occurring in our county for some time took place at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Cowles, of Bentonsport, on Thursday evening, Nov. 4, being the marriage of their daughter Ida, to Mr. Joel West, a promising young lawyer of Greenfield, Iowa. The marriage service was performed in an impressive manner by Rev. St. John, of Eidon, Iowa. The following is a list of presents received by the happy couple:

A handsome set of parlor and bedroom furniture, a set of silver knives, and a check for $500, from the bride's parents, a handsome silver cake dish and a silver castor from Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Cowles; an elegant silver butter dish from Mr. and Mrs. Harrison; a set of silver forks, tea spoons, a sugar shell, cake knife, berry spoon, &ec., from relatives of the bride living in Boston; three fancy tidies, two card receivers, two hand painted plates, a pair of vases, a set of Sheakspeare's works, toilet bottles, a pair Swiss Candlesticks, a match safe, fancy inkstand, pin cusion, Roger's poems.

The following guests participated in the festivities of the evening.

Mrs. Willis, Miss Ada Rehkoph, Mr. and Mrs. F. Hancock, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Greef, Mr. J. D. Sanford, Miss Maggie Sanford, Miss Annie Tussie, Mis Hartson, Miss Sena Greef, Mr. and Mrs. St. John, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Cowles, and O. Greef. The bridal party started for their future home at Greenfield on the evening train. Thus Bentonsport loses one of her fairest daughters.
