Born to Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Carroll
The Keosauqua Republican of March 15, 1888, relates: "D.W. Carroll, the popular manager of Manning's Selma store, has more business on his hands now than he has yet experienced and it cuts considerably into his nightly rest, heretofore enjoyed, but 'tis said he withstands it remarkably well. The cause of it is the first baby of the family, (a sweet little girl, Nellie, Pap Carroll thinks), born a few days ago."
