WELLS, RANDALL

MARRIED at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J.M. Randall (Birmingham). ALETHEA L. to Thomas S. WELLS, of Burlington, Iowa.

The bridal party was preceded by Mrs. Lula Baxter Shearer, who played the wedding march, while Mrs. Daisy Hildreth sang "Oh Promise Me," the Rev. E.J. Smith pronouncing the full Methodist Episcopal marriage service.

All then proceeded to the dining room where a bountiful two course lunch was served, the color scheme in both parlor and dining room being pink and white. The popularity of these young people was well attested by the happy crowd assembled to honor the occasion, and their merry approval of the important ceremonial rounded to completeness this "June Day." "All the world loves a lover," and the wedding hymn through all the centuries has been a song of supreme happiness. Certainly no two ever assumed the new obligations with more sincere well wishes of a host of friends than do Mr. and Mrs. Wells. By heredity and by environment they are surely well equipped to render a good account of themselves in whatever community they may make their home. A rare and liberal collection of bridal gifts made glad the hearts of the recipients. The rice and shoe showers too were sufficient. After a trip to Colorado Mr. and Mrs. Wells will be at home to their many friends at Burlington.

The guests from abroad were Mrs. Ellsworth and daughter, Jason A. Randall, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Hildreth, Atlantic ; Miss Hearst, Libertyville; Mr. Jackson and daughter; Mrs. Shearer, Tom Randall, the Misses Ball, Lute and Kaufman, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. I.B. Day, Keosauqua; Mr. and Mrs. W. Wells, Miss Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs. Voorhies, Miss McCracken, Mrs. Roundtree, Mrs. Downard, Mrs. Spielman, Mr. and Mrs. Heer, Mr. and Mrs. Johnston and daughter, Mrs. Junkin and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. R.E. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. H. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Rodabaugh, Mrs. Welch and daughter, Mrs. Booker, Mr. and Mrs. McClain, Mr. F. Wells, C. Downard, Miss Julia McLane, Miss Louden, Miss Chidester, Miss Jordan, all of Fairfield; Miss McMillen of Des Moines.
