ELIZA DORREL BONAR was born, November 27, 1838, near Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois, died May 6, 1921, Vinita, Craig Co., Oklahoma, Married January 12, 1860, to John W. Nelson, Born September 27, 1832, Wayne Co., Ohio, died 1 April 1889; Eliza is buried in Millers Chapel, Van Buren Co., Iowa. She and John had 9 children. *1880 Federal Census, Van Buren Co: John Nelson, age 57, born Ohio (father born Pennsylvania, mother born Ireland), Eliza age 41, Born Illinois (father and mother both born in Ohio). (Her father appears to have been born in Pennsylvania instead of Ohio). The obituary of Eliza says that J.R. Gilchrist was her nephew; John Robert Gilchrist, 1864-1932, married Ludema (Patrick), 1873-1947. Their son was James Ren Gilbert, born March 30, 1901, died April 1, 1910.
