DEACON JOHN SCOTT died at Bonaparte in March, 1861. His known integrity and zeal as a member of the Mr. Zion Church (Bonaparte) made for him a cherished place in the annals of that church and in the hearts of all who knew him. His pastor, Rev. W. A. Eggleston, wrote, “He died with a good hope through grace, and the last of earth was peace.” He was about 60 years old.
