Lloyd Earl Webb, the son of L.A. and Faye (McGuigan) Webb, was born on a farm in Grant Township of Union County, on August 17, 1919, and attended country school in Grant Township. After finishing the eighth grade, he went on to Shannon City High School where he graduated with the Class of 1937. Following graduation, Lloyd continued to farm with his father. During the Great Depression, the family moved to a farm north of Creston in Spaulding Township.

On February 22, 1953, Lloyd was united in marriage with Anita E. Cook of Kent, Iowa. They raised four daughters on a farm in Lincoln Township and attended Jerusalem United Methodist Church also in Lincoln Township. The family enjoyed annual fishing vacations in Minnesota.

In 1973, Lloyd and Anita moved to Lloyd’s parents’ farm in Spaulding Township. They remained there until 2008 when, due to Anita’s health, they moved to Crest Ridge Estates in Creston. Following Anita’s passing in 2011, Lloyd moved to Prairie View now Homestead Assisted Living where he remained until February of 2018 and then transitioned to Crest Haven Care Center. Lloyd’s love of farming kept him close to the land until the last few years of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Beryl; and an infant sister Melba Marie.

Left to honor Lloyd’s memory are his daughters Rozlin (Joe) Selveen of San Diego, California; Linda Buxton of rural Creston; Kathy Webb (Chris) of Burlington, Vermont; and Diane (David) Siddens of rural Creston; grandson Monte Siddens of Tecumseh, Nebraska; granddaughter Melinda (Eric) Foland of Afton; grandson Levi Buxton of rural Creston; granddaughter Janelle Buxton of Polk City; and three great-grandchildren, Trevor Henry of Mt.
