Lloyd L. Berry, 86, of Creston, died Sunday January 13, 2008 at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston, while in for rehabilitation from hip surgery. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Jane Willan will officiate. Burial will be in the Graceland cemetery. Open visitation will be 2-8:00 PM Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM. Memorials are to be established in his name. Flag presentation will be by the Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797 of Creston.

Lloyd L. Berry was born September 22, 1921 in Adair County to Viola Alverta (Lloyd) and Elmer Milo Berry. He grew up on a farm and graduated from Zion High School. He entered the US Navy, serving from November 4, 1942 until December 1, 1945. On April 10, 1948, Lloyd was united in marriage to Lois Maxine Welling in Creston. They made their home in Creston where Lloyd worked for Vanmark Corp., then later owned and operated Supreme Cleaners until he retired in 1983. He was a member of the Creston VFW.

Survivors include his wife Lois Berry of Creston; one daughter: Natalie Heckman of Creston; one brother: Donald (wife La Ree) Berry of Creston; one sister: Shirley Ely of Puyallup, WA; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Loa Kline; Geraldine Berry and Amy Reeves and one brother: Gilbert "Bud" Berry.
