Shirley Irene "Queen of America" Goff, 68, of Lenox, formerly of the Creston area, died
Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at the Lenox Care Center in Lenox. Funeral services will be 10 am
Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be at the
Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Open visitation will be from 3 to 5 pm Wed. at
the Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Ave. Creston. Online condolences may be

Shirley Irene Goff, daughter of Rachel Eva (Davis) and Ray Wesley Goff was born Feb.
22, 1939 in Creston. She was educated at the Annie Wittenmyer School in Davenport
and lived in Clarinda, Mason City and Lenox areas. Survivors include her five sisters: Mary
Goff of Afton; Pauline Goff of Davenport; Maxine Goff of Omaha; Alberta Cordell of
Blockton and Darlene Adams of Denver, Colo.; three brothers: Ralph Goff of Creston;
David Goff and Freddie Young of California; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was
preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Albert and Franklin and three
sisters Violet, Mildred and Bessie.
